The Last Time We Walked as Friends
Sometimes in life we must step away from reality and reconnect with our surroundings.
This creates new opportunities and gives us a fresh perspective on what’s possible — and on what we already have.
This landscape carries both the anger of the sea and the clarity of the black gate on the right — a gate that opens the path to understanding, while still leaving space for the unknown.
The powerful waves show how rough the outside world can be.
If we let ourselves get pulled into it, it can change us — and break us in an instant.
Yet there is also a narrow pathway through the sea, guiding us toward the freedom we all seek — not only me, but you as well.
Beneath the samurai sword in the rock, a fox lives quietly — a friend I didn’t know for long.
But every time I ask the fox how he is doing, he drifts off the path and returns to his resting spot underneath the rock.
And I keep going.
The fox can be a companion: not someone who leads us to the final destination, but someone who walks beside us and helps us stay on the path we should follow.
Maybe we don’t know if the fox feels great or not — all we can do is look out for him, help him through his own path, and wait until a new swordsman pulls the blade from the old ghost of the White Oni.
In the end, we are responsible for the road we choose.
And every door we open becomes a new chapter.
